On Friday, November 26, 2021 it was reported that the iconic musical composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim passed away in his Roxbury Connecticut home.

Stephen Sondheim wrote melodies and lyrics for over a dozen Broadway musicals including West Side Story, Sunday In The Park With George, Company, Into The Woods, and Gypsy. 

Sondheim has won a staggering nine Tony Awards and eight Grammy Awards. Sondheim also won an Academy Award, and President Barack Obama Awarded Mr. Sondheim the “Presidential Medal of Freedom,” which, along with the “Congressional Medal of Honor,” are the highest civilian awards of the United States,  akin to being knighted by the Queen of England.
